Workshop on the Improvements of the Guide Book for Foundation Year

On the 10th thru 12th of August 2009, the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC) called on all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), State-run, as well as Private-run institutions to attend a workshop on the improvement of the existing Guide Book for Foundation Course Program. 

The workshop was sponsored by World Bank and was presided over by H.E In Vireakcheat, Secretary of State of Education, Council of Ministers. The aim of the workshop was to improve all criteria used for the evaluation of the Foundation Year as conducted by all universities. 

In addition, the workshop highlighted and shared lessons learnt since ACC was created in 2003. The lesson learned at this workshop will be used to further enhance and build on the quality of higher education in Cambodia.

ACC will report all inputs and suggestions to the Central Committee for further discussions and make a draft of revision of the existing two manuals, Manual on Foundation Year Course Program for External Assessors and Manual on Foundation Year Course Program for Higher Educations. After this draft is made, ACC will host another seminar by inviting all higher education stakeholders to participate. ACC wishes to get a new version of the two manuals by October of this year. They will be used for all assessments on the implementation of the Foundation Year Program.
